We offer many different types of events and activities throughout the year. Browse below to learn about a few of our most popular events.
Fiber Night
For nearly a decade, folks have joined us here at LBC to work on their current crafting project. We called it fiber night because there are so many different fiber-related crafts that folks do: knitting, crochet, embroidery, needle felting, and more.
Fiber night has since outgrown the LBC space and we now collaborate with Abundance Co Op. Every Wednesday night from 5:30-7:30pm we meet in the community room and craft.
No matter what craft you do, if you’re looking for folks to hang out with while you work on something fiber night is the place to go! This is a free event open to everyone with no need to register for a spot.

Speed Friending
Let’s face it, making friends as an adult is really hard.
That’s why there’s speed friending! These popular events are designed for you to meet Speed Friending is designed to break the ice in a fun, low-pressure way. Instead of awkward small talk, you’ll enjoy guided rounds of lighthearted questions while working on a playful coloring sheet, giving you something to do with your hands as conversations unfold.
This special edition adds a festive twist: it’s a Halloween costume party! Come dressed in your favorite costume or spooky gear to make the night even more fun.
How It Works
Three Rounds of Conversation: Each round gets a little longer and a little deeper, starting with quick, easy questions (“What did you want to be when you grew up?”), moving into interests and hobbies, and ending with conversations about favorite Rochester spots and things you’d love to do with a new friend.
Seat Swaps Between Rounds: To help you meet more people, you’ll switch seats throughout the evening (not your thing? switching seats is not required).
Connection Cards: No pressure to hand over your phone on the spot! You’ll get custom cards where you can share your name, contact info, and what kind of connections you’re looking for—friendship, casual, or more. Add a personal note and pass it along when the moment feels right.
Shtty Craft Nights & Crafternoons
Everyone can make art, no matter what their experience level is. For those who are just beginning their crafting journey or those who have been crafting for ages, sh*tty craft night is the perfect way to express creative energy.
We don’t focus on how “good” what you’ve made is, we focus on the fact that crafting can be relaxing and fun when you aren’t worrying about the finished piece. Each month we choose a different simple craft to make and provide some basic instruction to get you going. The best part? It’s supposed to come out sh*tty!
If you make something beautiful, great! If you make something sh*tty, great! The most important part is that you engaged your artistic skills and abilities to make something. We think that’s great. Join us each month for a diferernt craft and develop your artistic skills!
